I am a black cosmos,
Surrounded by infinity;
Darker still,
Pierced polka dot pinpricks
In the fabric of space,
Once shone guiding lights;
Stars that died eons ago
Giving up,
No longer willing
To lead the lost to salvation.
So I just float,
Unable to alter course.
I am a blank slate
With no chalk;
No choice,
No voice
Against fate,
Who’s folded forever,
Held tight like an oyster
Concealing beauty within;
Bright futures in darkness,
Or just empty death.
So I just drown,
Too weak to prise open time.
