Think it’s time to give up.
End the pretense
That the world can see sense;
Nothing will change
While we wish for the same;
While we buy all their poison
And scramble for slops.
Watch protest just flop;
Watch passions wither
From inferno to ember.
Continue, consume,
Buy your gold-plated tomb;
Asphyxiation by avarice,
Lost in a sea of plastic bliss.
Morals elastic ignoring those tragic,
Or spastic or manic or panicked;
Stay in the gutter!
We’re nothing but clutter
Refusing to bend
As the world around ends.
Once overflowed cup
Trickled down,
Let us swim;
Now we’ve all given up;
Let us drown,
Let them win.
Oh my, this is really an amazing poem, darling. I am moved by this, the flow of emotion is overwhelming. Thank you for letting me take a peek at your heart’s stasis. Good job!
