The grass sways to the tune of our bodies
As we fumble and fall.
Dandelions waltz as we poison our thoughts
With each other’s.
Falling into embraces like autumn leaves;
Always fearful
Of that cold dark winter you decide to leave.
Left in horror at the thought of another
Touching,
Feeling,
Endearing
My soul that’s no longer alone;
Inflated,
Enriched,
By this maddening love stitched
Into a canvas of terror
That there could be no other –
No one walking the earth
Could touch the sides of this depth;
Understanding unrestrained,
Futures cut off, constrained
Into singular fancy and relentless worry.
No matter my goals, the things I call true,
No matter my path, if you feel the same too;
Irreplaceable equal –
There’s just no one like you.
